You’ve heard about the wars in Israel, but you might not have heard about the spiritual warfare happening here, and how Jesus, Yeshua, is winning souls and setting captives free across Israel!
By God’s grace, we recently released an evangelistic video about the craziest love ever shown. This video and others have stirred thousands of Israelis to contact us recently, and many are ordering New Testaments and other materials and meeting with us to hear more. And praise God, the many strongholds from two thousand years of resistance to the Gospel are beginning to come down, and more Israelis are beginning to turn to Jesus!
The Dilemma of the Israeli Guru
Ofir, a 45-year-old attorney and businessman from the Galilee, began reading the Scriptures about 12 years ago and realized that Jesus is the Messiah. But he thought he could believe in Jesus and New Age, Buddhism, Jewish mysticism, and more!
He established a large New Age treatment center, and became a popular “guru” with a substantial following. He even had supernatural powers – but not from the Kingdom of light. He was trying to serve two masters – the true God, and the gods of this world.
Then one day, he contacted us and ordered some of our evangelistic materials, which paved the way for our team members Yoav and Roger to visit him.
When Ofir opened the door, they were enveloped in a cloud of incense. They saw crystals and New Age symbols and written mantras all around – this house was a “temple.”
They spoke for many hours with Ofir, and discovered an incredibly intelligent and talented but also very confused man. They sought to help him see that Yeshua isn’t just another one of the gods, but He is the one true God who came in the flesh.
Ofir realized that if this were true, he’d need to give up everything – his lifestyle, a major source of income, his fame and status in his community, his supernatural powers.
Ofir had many objections, but as he spoke with Yoav and Roger about the Scriptures and prayed with them, the strongholds in his mind and heart were beginning to collapse.
Then they asked if they could pray with him that God would reveal to him if the things he was involved in were from God or not. As they prayed, he suddenly felt something on the inside stuck in his throat and shaking him. He realized that there was a demon in him!
God’s Salvation in the Twinkling of an Eye
He looked at them earnestly and said, “OK, I’ve made my decision: I’m really going to follow Yeshua as Lord now. I’ve got to get rid of every evil thing in my heart.” Roger and Yoav led him in repenting from all his sins and evil practices, then prayed for him, and Yeshua delivered him!
Then Ofir started throwing out all sorts of things around his house that were connected with his previous life. He was truly cleansing the temple!
The next day Ofir wanted to continue the cleansing – so the guys headed down to the Jordan River for his baptism.
And right afterwards, the first test came. A woman sought him out, asking for the New Age treatments he had always given. Ofir looked her in the eyes and responded, “I’m sorry, I can’t do those things anymore. But I can pray for you in Yeshua’s name, and He can set you free!”
Over the next weeks, Yoav and Roger met many times with Ofir, usually for hours at a time, for discipleship. Yoav told us, “Ofir is a totally different person than the man we met at the beginning – he’s truly a new creation. This is nothing but the supernatural work of God!”
Losing Everything, Gaining Messiah
But God’s work through Ofir is only beginning. A policeman named Boaz who came to faith a while back through watching our videos and speaking with our team, had been wavering in his faith.
Boaz called Roger recently, and shared in desperation how he had lost all of his savings in a moment. Roger comforted him and shared God’s Word with him, then ultimately Boaz shared that he had also visited a witch.
Interestingly, Roger happened to be meeting with Ofir at that moment, and sensed that Ofir should talk with Boaz as well.
Ofir passionately shared how he had also tried to mix faith in Yeshua with other things, and realized it was impossible to serve two masters. He described how even though he himself had lost so much for the sake of the Gospel, the peace and security and new life he gained through Yeshua was worth more than the whole world. So he encouraged Boaz to make Yeshua his treasure, the One that can never fade.
Boaz began to weep and said, “I’ve sinned against God.” He realized anew his need for God’s mercy, and sensed God extending His hand to him in forgiveness and grace, in order to deliver him from all darkness. He fully dedicated his life to Yeshua!
And a few days later, Yoav, Roger, and Ofir drove to the Mediterranean Sea and baptized Boaz together!
Winning Souls in the Midst of the War
That’s not the only spiritual battle Yeshua has won recently. During the 12-day war with Iran, Taliya from a Orthodox Jewish background decided to follow Yeshua as Lord. Then Ben and Elisheva experienced dramatic spiritual deliverances and found true peace in Yeshua!
Please pray for all the new believers – that they would grow strong roots in the love of God, be filled with His Word and Spirit daily, be connected and developing as disciples, and that they’d be more than overcomers in every battle they face.
400 Babies Saved From Abortion
God is also continuing to save lives every week through our Pro-Life and Gospel hotline. By God’s grace, since we launched the campaign, over 400 babies have now been saved from abortion. What a joy to be a part of rescuing these beautiful new lives, and to bless and share the Gospel with their families!
The Next Video and Online Giants
So what’s next? We’re working on a new evangelistic video, and would appreciate your prayers for God’s anointing and creativity, and that many Israelis would turn to Jesus through this video.
